He's not wrong. Rupp runs in the gray area competing against all of these guys who have gone deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep into the black area.

Not every runner that beats Rupp has the same level of allegations levied against them as Alberto Salazar. Mostly the individuals above are only suspect due to the poor out of competition testing in parts of the world, without specific criticisms.
That's how I'm able to enjoy following the sport.

I confirmed with the organizers that Rupp is indeed running Prague.

Thank you J Gault. Did you also ask them how many years it will have been since their last American born winner if Rupp is able to win in Prague? Thanks in advance for finding that out and including it in all of your pre and post race coverage. Ya'll are the best at making sure we know that kind of crucial information so that we can better enjoy the race.

Kinda thought Jordan's name would also appear on this list on entrants.
Jordan is actually injured. DNS'ing at Boston wasn't some ploy to avoid the weather.
NO. just the popular/most successful recent ones. sorry i didn't include every possible elite runner on planet earth from the last 30 years. Evan Jager is even suspicious.
i'd still be writing if i wrote them all out.
if you think Rupp is dirtier than any of those guys, you're delusional and this conversation is over.
I'm a fan of Rupp and generally defend him on this boards, but this is one of those times where I can see how people dislike him. He's one of the most well-known distance runners in the world right now, but the only way we're able to find out he's running a marathon is from a random guy on Letsrun? Would it have killed Rupp (or anyone at the NOP) to send a tweet saying "Although I'm disappointed for having to drop out at Boston, I'm still confident in my fitness and am excited to announce I will be competing in the Prague Marathon."
that's a pretty effed up, selective way to view the world and sport. specific criticisms about inhalers and androgel versus REPEATED reports of NO out of competition testing in ethiopia and Kenya/morocco/Jamaica etc etc. Are you one of the guys who thinks Ben True and Kipchoge and Bolt are clean because they seem like nice guys? No proof against any of these athletes.
choose your owns reality that fits what you have adopted as truth i guess. You realize how flimsy your logic is, no?
your comment and perspective on the sport is rather depressing. i say this genuinely, not aimed at you so much as the state of things.

Welcome to the Rupp Haters Club (HRC).
Am I the only one in this thread extremely bothered that bib #5 and #6 are out of order?

he wants to keep it on the down low so that when he comes 4th in 2:10+ nobody knows.

Is it possible that he was already on the entrant list (before it was published) even before Boston, just a backup? I could see looking at the Boston forecast and saying, "ok, if the race isn't unfolding well and you absolutely feel like you're not going to win it then let's pull the plug at 18-20 and regroup for Prague". So you take a shot at Boston, collect appearance money, perhaps run for the win if things line up (such as the weather), and if not, live to fight another (soon) day.
any chance Yuki can change plans and run it too?
How is it a "pretty, effed up....way to view the world and sport"? Certainly my suspicions are selective, as they should be. Yes, I put more weight in specific criticisms of cheating than I do of imperfect testing. No, I don't assume athletes are clean merely because they "seem like nice guys".
You haven't pointed out anything to support your statement that my logic is flimsy. I am more suspicious of multiple accusations of wrongdoing than I am of simple opportunity of wrongdoing. The former is less flimsy than the latter.

Im extremely bothered you completely ignored bib #14
Pumped he's not wasting a reportedly great buildup and getting in another marathon. Historically this race doesn't seem to be very fast - times in the 2:07-2:08 range for the past 4-5 years. A time in that range would be a little underwhelming. Will he make a run at the AR? If he can get rabbits to 30k and decent weather I certainly wouldn't be shocked to see him do it.

That one doesn't bother me because I'm pretty sure Oleksandr Sitkovskyy's lucky number is 14.
LRC please finish this analogy:
Yuki K ran Prague last year and finished in 6th place in a time of 2:10....
So that means Rupp will finish in ____ place in a time of __________???????

I'm not sure what you mean by pushing an agenda. Worst poster on LRC is a bit harsh. I love running & am a fan of the sport. I come to LRC because I know I'll always be able to see start lists and results for every big meet/race out there. What I'm not a fan of is the way that this website has been covering some of the major marathons. I'm genuinely confused why the website harped so much that Rupp was the last American born winner at Chicago in X number of years when KK won the race and is an American. They did the same thing with Boston and even made a glaring error about Meb on the homepage. As a fan of the sport, it does nothing for me when I'm reading content on here when I see American born this and American born that. I don't think that's the right way to cover the sport. I'm a fan of running. I could care less where Kipchoge is from. He's the GOAT. The last Americans to win Boston are Meb & Desi. I don't need to hear that Meb was not born here to appreciate how amazing his run was in 2014. I think the way LRC is pushing that sort of stuff is Draconian in 2018. They need to catch up and maybe hire some non-white and non-male staff members (I am making assumptions about this last sentence- someone please let me know how many employees LRC has and if anyone is not a white dude).
