During my runs or easy workouts nothing bothers me, however after i race the 1600 or 800m I’m coughing for the rest of the day. I’m still dropping okay fast times but if i get prescribed with abuterol, will it help or hurt me?
Thanks

my understanding is that if you do indeed have EIA, then the albulerol should help. If you don't have it, the albulterol will not hurt you. So it can only help. But if you don't hae EIA, it isn't going to help in any way, either.
As for whether or not you have IEA, you need to see a doc to get that answered.
I do have it, and i will commonly suffer the symptoms you describe.
How mine manifest itself has changed over the years, and it effects people very differently.
Thanks dude, i will see a doc because do wheeze and cough a lot after a fast race.
See an allergy/asthma doc. I have EIA and I can bike ride and swim without problems but the moment I start running I start to wheeze and feels like there's an elephant on my chest. I still need the albuterol before I run, but allergy meds and a controller inhaler has helped bigtime.
I am not a doctor and I have no idea if you have exercise induced asthma.
But I do have exercise induced asthma and my symptoms are much like yours. 99% of the time I only have symptoms after a hard effort - true both when I used to race bicycles and now that I am a runner. Only very, very rarely during the spring - when my other allergies are bad, do I have symptoms during a run.
I never get wheezing like others with asthma - only a hacky cough.
Do you use albuterol?

I have a prescription but only use it if the asthma is really bad. It does help.
