Title 9
Because Oahu is a crowded pit. Definitely the least desirable of the islands to visit.
So if I'm reading this correctly, according to Title IX In some shape or form I would be allowed to run there. I would just have no idea at the moment what that would entail.
On further reading, it also seems like a reason for there being no team may be due to Title 9. I still need to read more but its proving to be very intriguing. Maintaining an equal proportion of male and female athletes means cutting certain teams to maintain the proportion, especially if there are teams with a high number of athletes.
You are correct sir! You just discovered that water is wet. This has been a hot topic for quite a while. When it was introduced MANY universities had to either trim their teams or add teams for the balance.
It seems schools would rather trim teams then add them to maintain the balance, probably due to costs. It seems Cross Country and Indoor Track are some of the first teams to go.
