To give some background, when I was a freshman in highschool I ran 4:58 in the mile and ~11:00 in the 2 mile. Sub 19 in the 5k.
I ran all three seasons. XC, winter track, and spring track but after 9th grade I could never run that fast ever again.
After 9th grade I never ran those times ever again. Idk if puberty played a factor but I probably grew 6-7 inches and gained 35-40 pounds.
My best mile time after 9th grade was around a 5:20. I am now in college, running around 50 miles a week on my own. I am looking to find the old speed I once had but I am still questioning how I managed to get slower throughout high school.
Anyone have any ideas?
