So us distance runners were having an argument about who participates in the most dangerous/extreme activity. (I know, nerdy distance runner conversation). I brought me being a snowboarder as my dangerous/extreme activity. My buddy claims that snowboarding in not dangerous/extreme and claims that him running the steeplechase is more dangerous/extreme than his snowboarding. I told him this was a ridiculous argument as I know many people who have been injured snowboarding and don't know anyone who was injured in a steeplechase beside bumps and bruises from fall. He said he disagrees and that snowboarding is "soft" compared to his event and that he knows someone who tore his acl in a steeplechase (i'm skeptical). I told him this was probably an incredibly rare instance and that people have torn their acl running normally without barriers. I than said that someone tearing an acl while snowboarding would not be seen as a freak accident but rather an unfortunate risk of the sport.
What do you guys think. His argument is ridiculous, right?
