The Ultra Boost st isn't a racer but it is one of the most well thought out shoes on the market.
Neutral vs. stability shoe. Which one you need.
Why are you comparing these two shoes? They're totally different. Pegasus is a neutral trainer, fairly firm and a good all-rounder. Ultraboost ST is a stability shoe with mounds and mounds of Boost, so it's much softer, much springier, much heavier, and costs 50% more. Are you just going by the advertising? What have you run in before, and what are you actually looking for in a running shoe?
I have run in lunarglides before. Nike free run shoes, vomeros 9 (some bugger stole it after oonly 90 miles on them) and some generic Reebok shoes. Those two shoes i chose are on sale with nearly 50% off.
I was told I have slight pronation but i have never felt uncomfortable in neutral shoes. On the other hand, I felt happy with vomeros.
Considering I am a mere hobby jogger I want value for money. Something I can use for long-time.
And I will say for roughly the 1,000,000th time on these boards, please just go to your local running shoe store, have them check your gait, and try on the shoes they suggest. Believe it or not, that is actually better than random people on a message board suggesting shoes to you!
We have only brand stores and obviously they will recommend their brand. Ex: Nike, Adidas, asics etc.
And the people employed there are idiots and are devoid of any knowledge whatsoever. Trust me, I have been to both Nike and adidas stores and they employ people with less knowledge about shoes than me.
I ask people on letsrun for their opinion as most of them may have run in those shoes.
