Title is self explanatory. Does he really has a full time 40h / week job? Surely he needs a ton of time off for all these races... anybody knows whats the true story of yuki kawauchi day to day?

Yes, he has a full time job. Not as hard as Sarah Sellers, but full time none the less.
He doesn't work in a third world country (ie. USA) and actually gets vacation time. He uses his to travel to international races.
He does an administrative job in a school in Japan with his hours being 1pm-9pm (doing single sessions before work). I believe there are three semesters per year and a break between each, which allows him some time to travel (e.g. he definitely cited that as the reason he had time to travel to Boston on Jan 1 to run Marshfield). Beyond that, he probably uses all his vacation days for running-related travel.
It would be fascinating to see his travel schedule though. How early did he arrive for Boston and what kinda jetlag was he facing?
I was wondering during the race how he was doing with jet lag. He was running at I think 11pm his time.

Come on,now. We've been through this before, here. Anybody working for a school system ain't really working compared to those of us in the private sector.
and You have to get charged with a felony on school grounds to get fired, but get to keep your pension.

This. I believe Stahl did the same thing in his day, i.e., used his vacation time to travel to races.

In my school administrators work all year (even Holidays) BUT they have a lot of vacation time.
I can see one easily having the time needed to travel to races.
But, if he works nearly as hard as our administrators do I don't know how he has the energy to train.

That's a good point and I've thought that the fact that he works from 1 PM to 9 PM could make a big difference as he can get his runs in before he's wiped out from his work day.

Starting around noon or in the afternoon, being able to run before work would help quite a bit. Still gotta give him immense credit though, he's a hero for working 40h week no matter what job and winning Boston.

Absolutely. Of course most people who won Boston did that once. I think Geoff Smith was the last of them.
