Ezekiel Kemboi's kick in the 3000m steeplechase is the best in that race.

I wonder why Kemboi raced the 2017 WC. I thought he moved up to road running.
Finishing 11th is kind of a letdown for his career.
Steve Cram and Jose Luis Gonzalez with a ~50 secs last 400m.
Bob Schul out kicks Keino and Jazy, thanks in part to Bill Dellinger.
Cacho, 1992, the rest are all slower.

The rain really hurt Jazy's chances to win gold in the 5000m final.

This race destroyed Cram psychologically, and even physically. After this race, he changed his training because he lost faith in his finishing speed, and consequently started getting injured even more frequently than he had in the past.
It was just a freakish performance from Gonzalez (at the age of 29). That was Cram's fastest ever final lap too.
Kipsang destroying Desisa at the end of the 2014 NYC Marathon.
He's gonna get GOLD in Tokyo boyz. Oh yes.

Ryun was a monstrous kicker, as was Geb. Those two come to mind first.
But Abdi Bile closing the 1987 WC 1500 in 1:46.0 has to put him in contention
I think you'll find Bile's last 800m was 1:46.8/1:46.9, rather than 1:46.0. His last 400m was 51.5.
Bile's last 800 was around 1:46.1

Abdi Bile - Jama Aden's first champion.
Is Bile suspicious apart from that?
Let's watch the last lap of the 1995 10,000m World Championship race.
The runners finishing behind Gebrselassi in that race:
Khalid Skah - the reigning Olympic Champion. (video of great kicks by the OP)
Paul - Tergat - subsequent 10,000m World Record holder
Salah Hissou - subsequent 10,000m World Record holder
Geb held the world record going into that race and got it back each time the other two took it from him.

Bile was not a champion under Aden.
Bile was coached by John Cook when he won the 1987 1500m World Championship.
Aden coached Bile from 1989 - 1996 and produced a Bronze in 93 and a #1 world ranking in 89, but not a champion.
At his best, which is what we're talking about, Snell?

Yifter the Shifter. I would love to say Rod Dixon but Yifter had an amazing kick. I could also argue the last American who won an 800 gold in the Olympics. That was a great long kick.

Watching that live, I remember laughing in the moments after Haile got shot out of a cannon on that last lap. Hadn't ever seen something like that - the acceleration into what looked like a fresh sprint - in a distance race (and I had watched Cova at the WC in 83). Laughing in awe and joy. It was SO much fun being fan of Haile. Nothing has come close since then. Not sure if that's simply ageing, or the fact that there is only one Haile, or some of both.
And I will be the first to admit that there are others - perhaps most notably Bekele - in the mix with Haile on the GOAT distance runner question. But the relentless and substantial WR lowering at both 5 and 10K is something that no other GOAT candidate has come close to matching (and then a lesser dab of the same at the half and marathon much later - arguably too late - in his career).
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
