So I ran the horribly cold, rainy, and windy Boston Marathon yesterday. When I crossed the finish line my watch said I ran a 2:59:27, just enough for a safe BQ. However, the official results had me starting exactly when the gun went of at 10:00:01 AM which resulted in my official time being a 3:02:20. I was in wave 1 corral 5 and clearly didn't cross the start line when the elites did but a 2 minutes after. I submitted this to the BAA, luckily I knew the person I crossed the start line with and was able to figure out what my net time would have been (2:59:25) based on when he crossed the start (as well as me) and when I crossed the finish. Did anyone else have this issue or has had this issue in the past? I am pretty stressed about as it's the difference between getting a bib for Boston next year and not.
