Want to thank a volunteer who helped me out after the race. My plan was to meet my family right away at the meeting area. I had been dropped off at the start so that was the only path to dry clothes. Like everyone else I was drenched and getting colder and colder as I started walking. The rain was picking up and it was a wind tunnel in the city. I got to the meeting area and my family wasn't there.
I spent a minute standing in the middle of the street, spinning in circles, looking in all directions to catch a glimpse of someone in my crew. I looked and felt like a lost child and was freezing.
A volunteer came over, asked me what was wrong, and walked me a block up the street to a warm coach bus where I called my family to let them know where to find me. It would not have been good had I stayed outside any longer than I did. That volunteer was amazing, upbeat, and helped me out when I could barely put a couple of sentences together. Thank you so much.
