At a 4% draw, that is $320,000 per year. That is not necessary.
If you are married and you retire with a paid for home and zero debt, you can make it on so much less than that.
If you had this at age 62:
$190,000 paid for condo in Naples, FL on the beach
$1,000,000 in retirement account
$40,000 a year coming from Social Security
Take 4% from the million dollars. That = $40,000.
So, completely debt free and with income at age 62 of $80,000
Easily doable and set for life.
