I am a freshman and run the 1600 , 400, and 800. My track coach while a nice guy is also the basketball coach, football coach and pe teacher and tbh track really isn’t his thing so we are just told to go run 5-7 miles every day. So far I have run a 2:19 800, 5:04 1600 and 58 400. My goal for this season is to break 5 in the 1600 and lower my 800, I run the 400 just for fun and to get the team points. This was last weeks training because we didn’t have a meet that week- please let me know if I’m missing anything because I am stuck at 5:04 and 2:19-2:20 800 at every meet and I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong. I’m getting enough sleep before meets nothing hurts and I don’t think I am running too much as I increased my mileage by 10 percent each week over the summer taking a week every month to stay at the mileage I was already at before adding anymore. I’m 5’7 and 119 so I’m not too thin if anything I’m a lot taller and more muscular then most of the girls I am racing. Either I’m meant to stay here at these times for awhile and that’s ok, I’ll just keep working, or I’m doing something wrong with my training. If that’s the case let me know how to fix it. Thank you!
