Seems like we finally know how to beat the East Africans in the distance races. Almost every East African in the elite field couldn't finish today, so it seems like a no brainer to just wait for cold weather.

That's your take? A Mexican-American won women division. The white power favorite (Rupp) wasn't so powerful today. The race was in USA. Africans are under no obligation to make Boston Marathon look good.

Bumbalough was 5th. Under what other circumstance would Bumbalough ever finish this well? And coming in at nearly 2:20. There was a whole host of East Africans who would've beaten him had this race been 10 degrees warmer and without rain.

True the London world championships hurt many Africans. Early on the Summer Olympics were in Finland, Belgium, Sweden and the Netherlands. Northern Europeans were more competitive in more favorable temperatures.

Funny that you actually think Mexicans are composed of just one race.
Well, East Africans do run well in cold conditions, witness their success in very cold cross country races.
It was the combination of wind, rain and cold that they couldn't handle in Boston.
We didn't learn anything from this race that we don't already known. We know Africans are from a hot continent, so obviously it is different in Boston. Look at a cheetah, you don't need to be John Hammond from Jurassic Park to know that it wouldn't run well if you dropped it onto Kizhi Island. Also look at the Alaskan Malamute, you don't need a brain to know that it won't run well in Chad. We all evolve into our own climates.
If the Olympics were held at the Arctic Circle, I think Northern Europeans could win the men's 100 meter dash.....

C'mon man...the "tough as nails" East Africans couldn't handle a little rain, cold & wind? Not buying it...there's something else going on here that we're not privy to. ?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
