Is it against the rules for an athlete who is currently competing for a school to run unattached at a meet? Will they loose their eligibility? competing NJCAA right now.

Anyone have the answer to this?
No, you can run unattached at meets. Transportation, lodging, food and uniforms must not come from a program outside of you as an individual.

Not sure why your coach hasn’t explained this to you
You are allowed to compete unattached as long as you are not representing the school (competing in uniform) or funded by school (meet entries etc)
The general answer is no. As long as you meet the criteria above. Some meets will not allow you to run unattached, Arcadia is an example. There are also varations of the rules for each state. I know Missouri has limits to how many meets you can entered unattached during season. This is something you should talk to your coach about. Racing can impact what ever training program he/she hsa put together and put your at rish for over training/racing as well as injury.
