Started in the first corral. Ran 2:50 and beat my bib number easily. The driving rain felt like hail at times.
Athletes Village was muddy, but not extreme. The funniest thing I saw was how much port-o-potty camping that occurred. I don't think it was widespread, but people were not leaving, easily the warmest place at the village. It was even worse at CVS, folks were banging on the doors saying, "times up!"
The tents were obviously at capacity, could barely walk anywhere at tent #2. Tent #3 was a muddy mess from the beginning.
A lot of hyperthermia on the course from what local TV is saying. They're opening emergency "warming centers" in each of the towns. Apparently all the medical tents are overflowing.
I definitely felt chilled in a singlet and arm sleeves. Pre-Hyperthermia symptoms didn't occur until the walk back from the finish to the Marriott. Shaking pretty bad, a little disoriented. But felt fine after a hot shower.
It was a difficult day, but happy I ran.
