He's like the guy who's at every road race in your town grinding out 20:00 but he wins Boston.

Is that one of those weird Japanese hobbies?

Not really a good comparison...
Just saying he doesn't fit the model of the super-taper, race 2x a year, concentrate your effort as highly as possible elite thonner.
Something to be said for a wealth of experience, at any distance.
I love how everyone around here loves Yuki... but hates on ultra running. Fundamentally they are the same thing
Im picturing him rubbing the rear of a goat with his pelvic to the tune of hip hop music. Not a good name for him

Maybe more like the 15:50 grinders. Well, where I live 15:50 at local road races gets you 10th at best.
15:50 here would have you clean up every race and prize money available unfortunately I'm a crumbly 19:48
And makes American marathon runners look real soft. US guys only want to run 1 race a year and even that they are not happy with meanwhile this guy runs what 1 marathon a month and has a faster PR than any current US runner. US male marathon runners need to take a page from this guys book and strap a pair on and get out there and race more often
He is like the Japanese Max King, but mono-focused on the marathon.
You can't compare him to ultramarathoners, because he has run more sub 2:10s, I believe, than all Americans in history.
He has a 2:08:14 pr off this crazy schedule, not much off of 12:56 5000m runner Dathan Ritzenhein, and better than Rupp.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
