Did nike not test these jackets before having athletes they pay a lot of money wear them? I've been led to believe that elites run in shoes and gear they'r'e sponsored to run in and any other brand would work just as well. Is letsrun saying that clothes cause a difference?
I think it did to a certain extent. You could see the parachute effect on lot of their runners, especially Edna, Shalane, and Kirui.
Was it the jacket, as in material, or was it that the jackets were just too damn big, allowing too much wind inside?
Edna's jacket looked like something out of eddie bauer.
Desi's jacket was more form fitting, and there wasno puffiness to it, so she was little bit more aerodynamic. Also, she wasn't that wet. Now, It didn't retain any heat for her, because she was shivering like crazy at the end of the race. So I know she was cold as hell.
Kirui looked as if he was sprayed with a fire hose.
I personally feel that brooks and asics make the best windbreakers...more of an athletic fit with solid materials, and really light weight.
