Salazar got a TUE for it and it died of a heart attack trying to walk up a flight of stairs.
Dumb
Weather was probably too much for his asthma.....
I predicted a DNF at Mile 19 in the "Galen Rupp Prediction Thread". What do I win?!
Rupp has never been a tough runner.
He needed some proper 5x18-mile repeats at race pace with a 400m jog recovery in his buildup. He says he was in good shape, but until he shows some 5x18 workout results, he will always be a C-grade runner. Sad.

This is literally the first time I can remember Rupp failing to meet or exceed expectations.
This is galen's first bad race, seriously. up until now, dude had never had a bad race.
Glad he had it on a day that everyone else pretty much had a bad day.

And only people with asthma can truly understand that.
I have asthma- I am helpless in situations like today at Boston. You simply can not breathe.

He dropped out to pull a bank heist.

He should go run London. Still should have something left in the legs.
Although it looks to be 70 degrees on Sunday in London.
Weather can't be a valid excuse. I know people who PRed today.

60-64 during the whole race. 69 is high temp for the day at like 3pm. Not too bad. Especially since Rupp ran in that 70-75 degree heat and humidity in Rio.

Look at the top 5 women today and their times? You think weather played no part? Idiot.
