Kawauchi winning london next week ?
Insane day. Pure guts effort and refreshing for the sport. Desi and Yuri - Big Doggs!!!
Looking at the top 5 women. Africans in top 5. lol? Did the commentator say below 0˚C ? It never gets that cold in Kenya. Starting having marathons in these conditions.

What is the largest recent margin of victory? Desi won by more than 4 minutes.
Has Desi now been involved in 2 of the most exciting Boston Women's finishes ever?
"Kawauchi didn't come from out of nowhere... but from pretty close to out of nowhere."
" Runners may love temperatures in the 40s, but not when rain and a blustery wind is added. Just look at Galen Rupp, who finished second in the elite men’s field last year. He had a unique approach Monday to staying warm, bundling up like he was about to rob a bank."
from the washington post... hilarious!!
what a day!

Why can so many elites not handle the weather? Shameful.
You're kidding, right? No experience. 30-35 mph winds, freezing rain. Now people should have a better understanding as to why kipsang dropped out at 30km in berlin.

It looks like most of the field just dropped out in the last 5-10K.
Incredible race.
Yes, I'd like to see the stats on that. Makes perfect sense, of course. I know what I would do if I was elite, but was not feeling perfect.......likely at 15 miles.
In a case of true justice restored, Bumby leans at the tape to beat Galen Rupp. Oh, oh, Rupp's team is trying to DQ Bumby. Ha ha.

Very low body fat and weight in freezing cold with strong headwinds, it makes total sense.. It's also not shameful, you're just an idiot.

Kirui looks good but for some reason his hesitating to pull the zipper down makes it feel like it's not a done deal yet. Hope to see some racing at the end no matter who it is.
The zipper hasn't reached Africa yet, that's why he's stymied by it.
This looks like one of the easiest AND hardest days ever to get a top 3-5 in a World Major.
I love that all the runners in the top 10 are rewarded for sticking with it and not dropping out. That's what it's all about..
Chesir dropped out in the last mile? She was still in third place at 25.2 miles.
Desi led off to an interview and Kawauchi left all alone holding the trophy.
Great smile--just an awesome guy and runner!!!
Hearing the weather predicted for BostonMarathon this weekend had me afeared. But it led to one of the most epic races ever in both mens and womens fields.
Which performance do you think is more impressive: Yuki Kawauchi today or Yuta Shitara in Tokyo 2 months ago?
Crazy how some of these people like Sarah Sellers were probably gunning for a top 25 finish at best, and she walks away with $75,000
I think we might be burying the lede here, which is that SARAH SELLERS JUST WON $75,000.
What happened to Kellyn, did she drop?

Yes of course. But if it is your profession to run you should be prepared for all conditions, I would guess it is primarily a lack of psychological preparedness.
