getting to the starting line is a pretty important part of marathon training.

here comes the DNF for Shalane

I don't understand why Geoffrey would strike this early.
You are correct. It's not smart in my mind. I'd wait , wait, wait.
Another boston marathon and another loss for America. We always lose. They say, each year, this is the best year for americans, then we lose. WE LOSE AGAIN! THIS IS REALITY!
LOL that surely is not the correct picture for Kirui?

Ritz, Meb, Hall all in their prime would have smoked Galen today
Will kirui pass some of the current broken womens pack at the finish?
the pic isn't kirui's
Did Galen just walk off the course?
These conditions are perfect for slipping away and building an insurmountable lead.

I agree. I think it is too early. Soloing into this headwind for 15k is suicide. Maybe I'll eat my hat though.
Something just doesn't add up with Rupp? Why struggling now? ? Weird, and too bad. Wanted to see US victory.

Not a Rupp fan at all but I find it hard to believe he is dropping already. Maybe saving something for later? I don't know.
London. Along with Hasay.
Just about anybody is better.
Overtraining didn't go as well as expected.

Like a podcast or something.
If people can use Twitch to livestream them playing video games, why not use it for the BrosJo giving race commentary?
There is an app in development called "Commentariat" - it'll be available for Android in time for NYC 2018 and will address this very issue.
Mary Cain hanging nice with the chase pack :)
if they don't give Kawauchi one of those awesome Japanese commercials on TV at some point soon, that's a total crime
but I do not understand how they are still putting out so much speed with that much headwind, I mean you can visibly see the rain banding on the road and the nike jackets are like parachutes, it's intense

do you think Kirui lost a bet, that's why he's wearing this ridiculous parachute?
On the NBCSN broadcast they said he went to the zipper a couple times but couldn't move it. Maybe it's stuck or he's just trying to handicap a few seconds to the Rupper?

Rupp will DNF
I think I saw someone predict this. Anyone have the post handy?
If galen loses is his career over? wrote:
If galen places 5th or worse, is his career over? I mean, that's embarrassing. I'd have to think Alberto drops him for someone a bit better.
You're really not smart.
Right before Kirui took off to lead Shadrack Biwott was pushing the lead pack on the men's side and Galen Rupp started to fall off.
Gladys Chesir started to pull ahead of Desi at the same time that Kirui started pulling away but it looks like Daska is coming back now so Desi has a chance.
