https://soundcloud.com/letsrun-com/Anyway, I got the text on Jordan being out and everyone here thinks the statement is bizarre. You are healthy yet you get an MRI to make sure? Doesn't really make sense. Likely had some other issues. If you're thinking you've got a chance don't likely do the MRI.
Makes no sense. This is the NOP. The have a million dollar budget. Her foot starts hurting in March and they wait until the day before the marathon to get an MRI? I was rooting for her but this is suspicious. Alberto brags about how he does everything for his athletes to give them the best shot. And they never got an MRI? B#lls#it.
dirty AF. cant root for anyone associated with NOP.
Come Wednesday we'll hear about how she had a great build up and her foot had a 'flare up' but with heavy treatment it's under control so she's going to give London a try as to not waste her training.
Translation: the Boston weather sux

I hope you are correct. A slow rainy-into-a-headwind marathon would not suit Jordan, but it would be a Godsend to Molly. I hope she does run London, or if truly injured is ready to go for NY or another solid marathon this Fall.
BTW - now I could really care less who wins a slow into-a-headwind marathon. It will probably by Molly. Yawn.
Assuming what Jordan says is truthful, and I have no reason to doubt, what's the beef? It's sad that she's out of Boston, but being ANGRY at her? Human beings get injured a lot in this sport, and they have to alter plans. I know from my own stupidity that being headstrong and forcing a workout when rest was the very, very smart decision led me to hobble my way through a 15 mile training run -- to stay on my stupid schedule. The ensuing worsening of the injury knocked me out of the NYC Marathon that year.
Jordan owes it to herself to do the correct thing, for her own reasons. It can be disappointing to let down all kinds of people -- like race promoters, agents, and fans, but NO runner should be a slave to race promoters, agents, or fans.
Should she come up with a career-altering injury now, then, who knows, it might mean an economic disaster down the road; some runners don't have real world decent-paying employment options other than T&F. (I know, some don't get paid well as pro runners, anyway.)
Sorry not to have you in the race, Jordan, but good for you for holding back.
Didn't Rupp have PF issues also? Maybe NOP needs to take a look at the shoes they train in.
Not angry with Jordan. But as you say, if she's truthful, then why all the lies at the press conference. I think this is more likely something that Alberto told her to say, but it looks really bad. I don't expect people to admit when they are injured but to say there are there to win and that they have no pain and that their training has gone great when actually you have a stress reaction is strange. Again, makes no sense that she would just be getting and MRI today. Think about it. She had pain in March, and if we believe what she says, has had no pain since. And yet she gets an MRI toady?

I now have zero interest in this marathon.
Sucks to be you.
Did she test positive in Nike's doping control? This story smells. Why an MRI now, and not a week ago?
I was being sarcastic on my last post about the MRI and it didn't quite come through. Anyways, she has a history of building up hype then pulling out the day before i.e. Club Cross and World Half Champs. I can't wait for the earth shattering sob story from women's running mag about "my story of overcoming a stress fracture."
This means Gennady Golovkin must find NEW OPPONENT ASAP-time is running out.
Had the same thought. Nike has been pushing a Shalane win haaaaarrrdddd.
This is exactly the problem with American running.

Yes, the guy who originally said she was pulling out of the World Half (and no one believed him) also came back and said that he had heard she was planning on scratching from Boston right before the race, Thursday I think was the date he gave. So a couple days late but still correct outcome. Thanks for the gossip, anonymous guy! Please keep it coming!

ALL Runners/Marathoners would be wise to bring their team of Doctors and Therapist's with them. To ALL Races as well as Training camps, Hasay is just doing what EVERY runner should do.
If you want a fast time, don't run boston. Medical condition aside, it's disrespectful to the race. It's not about time pr, it's about placement given the conditions at hand. If you want a fast race run Berlin. If she's hurt she's hurt but stop lying to folks, pull a fast one and think everything is okay. It's okay to be honest in this world or else everything just starts to smell like wet dog.

Yes, because no one has ever gotten PF that didn't wear Nikes.

Why would you do that? He was guessing!

She said her foot was 100% healthy in the interview with Flotrack a couple days ago. Maybe she was just trying to stay positive.
What else could she say? But it’s been clear up until recently it’s been an issue; then this weather. It makes good sense for her to consider how healthy she really is and if it’s worth the risk to race in these conditions.
That's she's only 80% healthy? That she's been battling injury but still hopes to do her best? Athletes are honest about their level of preparation all the time. Not sure what lying gets you other than disappointment when you unexpectedly pull out at the last minute.
