Overall - this is very good news for the running community.
Hopefully Asics (or someone) is funding the group, as financial support is obviously important to the athletes. They will also need to be able to afford access to some facility for weight training, cross-training, treadmills for bad-weather days, etc. Since Sara mentions having teammates to train with, it sounds like they will be recruiting guys and gals. Added bonus: my guess is that anyone joining the group will find many other friends in NAZ Elite, NAU, etc. Flagstaff is great training ground with many pros training their at certain times of the year.
A thought: given their adoption of Ethiopian children, and obvious strong ties to East Africa, I wonder if the "Hall Elite" team might be skewed toward international runners. That is, they might have a comparative advantage recruiting current NCAA talent like Edna Kurgat and Weini Kelani, Sharon Lokedi, etc.? Or an advantage recruiting ex-Stanford runners?
No matter, I'm sure these LRC boards will continue to bash him and his athletes, even if they prosper with the training group.
