Ran what you'll see as "Old Highway" a lot. Sucks. Not concrete, it's like ground-up seashells mixed with coral. I guess once you run on that surface everything else will feel soft.
Why did I run on the Old Highway? Less traffic. Also, less businesses every 100 feet. Meaning not running past parking lots and parking lot ingress/egress every thirty seconds. The bad part about the Old Highway, though, is the foliage is very high on either side, so there's no wind. Just humidity you can see. Various bridges are awesome. You'll really have a breeze there, but most will be from RV's passing you with maybe an inch to spare. And don't jump into the water off bridges. It's either too far down, or if it's not too far down, it's where fish you don't want to mess with hang out. Don't ask.
Have fun!
