I think he might be near or at the fitness to do it but the weather is going to screw him; hope I'm wrong though!

I hope so! Would love to see him finally do it (again).
.
Is the qualifying window even open?
Nothing says sub elite like wondering if somebody will manage to be top 150 in the country in the most participated event in the sport.

It’s not even half way though 2018. If course it is

I assumed he meant it seemed too early. The window opened this past winter.
The qualifying window to use a half marathon time begins sept 1 of this year, in a semi related note.
We will find out on Monday

What recent workouts has he done that makes you believe he is at the fitness level to run the B standard?

light cross wind to a tail wind. light rain. sage gets it.
Hopefully. He seems like a cool guy and I really like his videos
But haters gonna hate
No. But he will give us his weather conversion and tell us he would of.
Training looks fine. weather might be an issue like others said

haters gonna hate? please come up with something more original than that.
I hope he gets it!! He is an awesome guy and has put a lot into this!!
You salty bro? Anyone who qualifies for the Olympic Trials or is close is certainly someone I can learn from and enjoy following. Yes, Sage is a self-promoter but if he wasn't he might not be in the sport because there isn't exactly a ton of money. A top-100 golfer can make a living but a top-100 runner cannot.
BTW, in 2016, when the half standard was 1:05, 86 qualified on the men's side with a marathon and 125 with a half. Hitting the OTQ marathon standard is more like being in the top-100 IMO. There's something to be said for being in the top 1/10 of 1% of marathoning or whatever it would be.
I hope he does but I would say his odds are less than 10%. Why does he always pick Boston? He should cherry pick an easy course.
‘Nuff said
First off, I'm a huge Sage fan and love following him on social media, but it's going to be tough to go sub-2:19 at Boston, given the current forecast. He ran 2:19:12 in similar Boston conditions in 2015 and is coming off of 2:19:50 in perfect weather at Houston.
He seems to be fit, but I'll say 2:20:06. Sage - PROVE ME WRONG!!!!!!!!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
