My buddy just called. He wanted my expertise being that I'm a former college coach. I was like, "Dude I'm like you and have limited knowledge about anything non-distance, but I know where I can find some help for you - on the forum."
So do you all have any ideas on what things he should be doing to get them ready for the season?
The events are 100-200-400-LJ and Shot put (softball throw).
He's fine with working on the start, but wants ideas for drills, warmup, games etc.
How do you make a 2nd grader faster in the sprints?
What ideas do you have for a warmup?
What's the best way to teach them get their steps right in the long jump? How far should the run-up be?
Is there a book anyone recommends he get? Or youtube video?
