Michael Mooney was the runner up 3200 by one one hundredth of a second in 8:50.96. According to milesplit he has always been a pretty decent runner, but he literally dropped his pr from 9:20 to 8:50 in one race. Has anyone heard of him or know what kind of training he's been up to that would allow for such a drop in time.
Not only that, he's run exactly three 3200 races. Ever. No 2 miles either. All this season.
9:50, 9:20, then 8:50. First two over 5400 ft elevation. Only ran 16s and 8s before and no xc till this past season. His sister was already known but even in CO, no one really knew much of Michael until he cleaned up against a stacked field for that 9: 20 elevation run at Broomfield invite. ....Though his 4:21 elevation time hinted last season.
