What is the smallest school to ever win NXN? Has any true “small school” actuallly won nationals or did very well? Or is it always the big top classification schools making it & winning it?

See username.
I reckon that a school with only five students could win it all. wrote:

He’s not asking who could smarta**, but who actually has....
Guessing Coatesville but couldn’t find their enrollment.
the answer might come as a shock, enrollment 9-12.
hint: both their boys and girls teams have each won nxn.
among the smallest schools each year at nxn.
you got it.

Manlius? Their enrollment is pretty high (1500-2000) so my gut tells me that can't be right.
the question was/is: the smallest school to win nxn.
not: the smallest school in the usa.
look at school sizes of all the winners since ntn/nxn inception, both boys and girls.
check your numbers on hs enrollment for each school too.
Hilton HS for girls, CBA for boys?

CBA is private- that doesn't count.
Hilton is still a Class A school in NY and at the time were AA (there is no AA in NY anymore).
If you look on tullyrunners.com they have the enrollment numbers for NY schools but they are only 3 grades (10,11,12)- that's how they classify sports in NY.
East Aurora girls got 4th in 2012. Public school with about 600 kids or less depending on the year.
As the original question went, the smallest school to win NXN. Not the smallest school in the race any year. The smallest school to win, period. FM, aka Manlius, enrollment hovers around 1400 grades 9-12 (2016-17). Broken down by grade, appx 350 per grade, give or take. Some recent past years down into the 1300-1200 range gr 9-12. These stats came from googling FMHS enrollment, fyi. True, one of the smallest hs's in the race every year. Maybe/likely the smallest to win in either boys and/or girls too. Public school as well. East Aurora is a much smaller hs in a smaller NYS school class, but did not win NXN. FM is one of the smaller 'large school' hs's in NYS.
Our school has about 1350? kids this year. Not small, but not big either. Combined enrollment for grades 10-12, boys and girls, is 1040 (just did this for Penn Relays). Our graduating classes for the past several years have been in the low to mid 300s. Class of 2018 has 341 kids. I would be surprised if we were the smallest school ever to win NXN.

Nobody disputed Coatesville so I am sticking with it. Somebody from that state can probably confirm.

I’ll try to dispute it then. Looks like they had 2333 students from grades 9-12 the year they won, just split between a grade 9/10 school and an 11/12 school, so it could’ve been difficult to tell.
I still think it’s FM.

I wasn’t able to find that level of detail so I was thinking they had only 1000 students.

Fayetteville -Manlius had a NYSPHSAA enrollment number of 1072 for the 2017 XC season ... this number was determined by counting the students in grades 9, 10 and 11 in the prior winter-spring semester (so these students became grades 10, 11 and 12 for the fall XC season).
The Fayetteville-Manlius enrollment number (just determined for the 2018-2019) school year is 1041.

Also: Check back in 8 months and we will have a new record for smallest school winning it all( Boys' side, since FM will win for girls again). Just my prediction, hopefully will bump thread in December.
