I think he will break 2:08 but haven't look at the weather forecast yet. He reads these boards and is mad that everyone making fun of his 2.09 times, so he will go for it, but the course is slow unless you have a tailwind.
2:04:28
You heard it here first folks
2:06:43
He's capable of going faster, but will win with a fast closing 2:07:58
What do I get if I win?
2:07:42 with a 13:30 last 5k

In that case, 2:09:05.
2:06:58
2:07:02
You're basically asking how tactical this race will be, which no one knows. Depending on the willingness or unwillingness of the field to push the pace, he could run anywhere from 2:06 to 2:12.
I think the predictions in this thread so far are overly optimistic.
the average of the last six winning times is 2:10:31, and the winner has run faster than 2:07:30 only three times this century, and only four times altogether.
the organisers are touting Geoffrey Kirui and Lelisa Desisa as their top elite runners. Desisa, although twice a winner at Boston, has not run faster than 2:09:17 on this course and Kirui, last year's winner, ran "only" 2:09:37. I see both of them as being past their best and they are not going to be troubling anyone going significantly under 2:10.
I think Galen Rupp will win, but it will not require him to run any faster than 2:08:32.
cheers.

I must say he looked really good in his last race, even though it was a point to point half marathon.
He showcased a lot of strength, so I'm willing to go with 2:08. That will still be slightly underwhelming, but
it will be his fastest time.
However if, he pops 2:07, that wouldn't surprise me. But sooner or later, he is going to have to come with a serious time.
If they go out in 65:30, he will run 2:09 again though he will definitely win this time (looking much better this year after Rome).
If they go out in 63:30, he will run 2:07 and it will be close with Tola or Kiri.
If they go out in 62:30, he will run 2:05 but come in 2nd.
No matter what though, people on LR will find ways to criticize his performance.

You so silly ! Sit and kick be will get him the "W"
2:11:48- when will he ever run a fast course like a London, Berlin or a Rotterdam and go for a fast time? I like to see if he has a sub 2:05 in him.
