Saw Mcgorty talking to Schumacher and overheard Schumacher cheer on Schweizer at Stanford Invite. Prakel fits NOP mold. Should be interesting to see following NCAAs this year.

McGorty ran a 3:53 mile years ago. He should absolutely thrive as a pro next year with full health and a year of solid training under his belt. He is a tremendous talent.
I think you’re right about McGorty, but that’s just my hope. Really hope he gets a good pro deal despite his injury last year. In any event, don’t say it like it’s a done deal!!
Prakel? Do you really think he’s NOP caliber?
Prakel will not even get a contract.

I don’t believe he will either. It’s strange that the OTC doesn’t just have a stable of these kinds of guys and keep them on minimal contracts to see if they can make next jump.

No, their mission statement is to take the best that they can get and either make them chronically injured or so discouraged with their placing and times that they quit.
Schweizer will NOT go to BTC. She was a huge Lisa Uhl fan because of the Iowa connection. She is very fearful of going that route. I expect her to steer clear of the Nike game. She will end up with New Balance or a Brooks Beast.

Isn't that how it used to be?
BTC seems like an obvious choice for Karissa. so many people to train with at her distance range, especially now that she's experimenting with 10k. Like it or not, BTC is the place to be right now for top women's talent coming out of the NCAA. I don't know where else she would go. I think it would be a bummer to see her go to Mackey/Beasts because I'm not sure he would be able to take her to the next level. I guess she could go to the Coogan New Balance group but until Abbey is back to her old form she wouldn't really have anyone at her level in the 5k and 10k to train with. Maybe Ray Treacy but no one else in that group really has the 1,500/mile wheels that she does and it would be helpful to continue to develop that.
I think McGorty would be a good fit for BTC, could also see him going to Beasts.
Anyone know where any other top talent is going? Will Justin Knight stay in the states? he could make a good fit for BTC as well.
I think Elise Cranny should go to the Bosshard group. She would have Coburn and Praught to train with for longer stuff and Kaela Edwards for the speed. Plus she grew up in Colorado. It would be great to see her get back to top form.
Elle Purrier is probably considering BTC with their steeple roster but could also be a good fit for Bosshard, or stay in New England and go with Coogan
It would be cool if all of the people you mentioned go where you said, but I'm not sure any of them are the right fit. Isn't Karissa relatively low mileage? Why wouldn't she just stay with the coach who got her good?
There are some Stanford people in BTC (and Josh Schumacher is going to Stanford), but McGorty seems a little fragile and BTC seems to put a premium on extremely difficult training. Are we sure he'd want to go there, or they'd want to have him? Likewise, BTC is a mileage program. Justyn Knight runs 55 miles per week. He would be destroyed at BTC. It would make muhc more sense to stay with his coach.
I'm pretty sure Elise Cranny is still with McGorty. Wouldn't they go to the same group, if they both turn pro and get a contract?
Finally, is Purrier going pro? If so, I can't imagine her straying too far from rural Vermont. She's a New Englander through and through.
Justyn Knight.

didn't know cranny and mcgorty were dating. I love that actually. The only group I can see being good for both is the beasts.
I dont think karissa is that low mileage, not sure what I'm basing that on but maybe her work out wednesdays/flotrack vids. Even if she is, she seems to be pretty durable. Houlihan and even quigley were relatively low mileage in college and I remember Frerichs saying she had never done a tempo longer than 4 miles before joining BTC so I would guess she was somewhat low mileage too. could still be a good fit, but maybe with an adjustment period
I assumed purrier is out of elligibility but could be wrong, seems like she's been around forever.
Can confirm from an inside source karissa schweizer is most likley --> BTC. As for Sam to NOP.... Maybe try ZAP fitness

Lol we both know that you know absolutely nothing about where she ends up/what shoe contract she signs.
Good points here, especially regarding Schweizer. Brooks Beasts probably wouldn’t work for her even more so because she’s frankly better than everyone in that group already, including Mackey at this point (beat her by a few seconds at Millrose). BTC would be a solid fit for her and I think her and Shelby would get along well.
Fox is leaving Syracuse to coach a Reebok sponsored group centered around J-Knight.

Couple other names linked to this as well. Kemoy Campbell and I believe there is a female to join, name will be released soon.
Based in Boston which is quickly becoming a hotbed on the east coast. These millennials want big hip cities and on the east coast, Boston is probably your best bet there to combine with running.
I realize abbey got a serious injury, but he hasn’t coached anybody else and that group is brutal. All were better in college. Lots of instagrams but no PR’s.
There aren’t really and groups except BTC and then solo studs or pairs.
The funny thing about this thread (like most things on this website) is it's pure 100% speculation.
Nobody has any real idea where any NCAA athlete is going until June. Why?
Because the athletes themselves don't even know until then.
That's how the NCAA and amateurism rules work.
