Like I talk about in this thread (

), I worked out way too hard on Wednesday. I did a cruise intervals yesterday (4 x 1 T w/ 1 min rest) and today I did five easy miles. My lower legs felt a little uncomfortable yesterday, but it disappeared during the workout. However, today they hurt pretty bad throughout the five miles. So the intervals on Wednesday broke me and gave me shin splints. Since there's no way I'm going to be able to get through my nine miler tomorrow without making things worse, I'm going to hop on the elliptical.
So I have two questions. The first is how do you count elliptical time to running time? 1:1 or 3:2 or what? The second is how do you guys get over them quickly? I know its really only time that will do it, but I'm assuming there are things you can do to help the process.
I have a four miler on Saturday that I've been looking forward to for a month and since I'm in phase 3 of Daniels' plan, I don't want to miss a bunch of interval sessions.
