Last Saturday I was on a camping/fishing trip. Was sitting around the campfire drinking and tripped on a piece of firewood. I fell down and my right knee hit the stone on the fire pit.
Felt fine walking fishing that day. Ran 5 easy that night and felt fine. The next day I went to run and the knee didn't feel great from the start. I did 7 miles with a few tempo pace. When I was finished I walked home with a limp due to the knee. Due to that and a real busy work week I didn't do anything the rest of the week except lift. Today, I ran 4 easy to test it out. It felt pretty good, but miles 3 and 4 I could tell it was still not back to normal.
Ordinarily, I would just take some more time off, but I have a half marathon in month. Would using a stationary bike or eleptical machine slow down my recovery? The other option I guess, is to walk on highly elevated treadmill. Basically, I would like to do so something to get my heart rate up.
Thoughts? Maybe from someone who dabbles in biking and probably experienced a crash?
