Good post. It is relatively rare for an American man to weigh less than 120 pounds and be healthy, the only one on the elite scene today is Ritz and he is just naturally small.

More likely the overtraining and relentless calorie deficit, which leads to
chronic inflammation.
Her instagram needling post was a video "story" you would have to look at the top of your feed.. Stories disappear after 24 hours and you can't link to them. It is not like a normal IG post..
I don't know why you would tell people they are lying without simply going there to check yourself. Its not that hard..

The NOP strength training/running model is too much. Both Galen & Jordan have had plantar issues.

Actually found out you can link to stories.. this story will expire soon and no longer be visible, so here go.....
https://www.instagram.com/stories/jordanhasay/?hl=enShe will race in Boston
We have good news from Ricky Simms.
Hasay's agent Ricky Simms has gotten back to us. We asked him about her status for Boston and he wrote, "Jordan pulled out of the World Half earlier this week with a tight plantar. It is more precautionary with Boston so close. We expect her to be fine for Boston."
She may or may not run Boston. A statement from Simms is totally meaningless.
When a Nike athlete pulls out of any event they do it right before. NEVER 4 WEEKS OUT. This is good business.
Think about it.
If she were to drop out today she would not be included in all of the silly pre race predictions. Now you and all of the others will keep her name alive right up to the race. Smart way to keep the hype up.

IF she's only 70% healthy, she's going. Appearance fees are lovely.

It’s true I also saw the Instagram story
She’s said before her only injuries have related to feet. This is probably a precaution
She's had PF before, I believe it was the injury that slowed her down before the trials and before the vapor fly was produced. Don't blame the shoe, it's a hazard of training hard. Still, can't believe that with all the funds NOP has they don't have the best soft orthotic maker in the world to fit their runners. Guessing Sal is not a believer in orthotics
She may run Boston, she may not run Boston. This much we know;)

Since East Africans are somewhat undernourished by Western standards growing up, they develop smaller frames than if they were to grow up in the West. This allows them to be healthy in their 20's at 90-100 lbs., with say a 15% bodyfat, whereas the Western women that are trying to get close to 90-100 lbs or less are right on the edge, maybe 10% bodyfat or even less.
What a stupid comment.

The info coming out is that it is due to a plantar issue. I recall that Rupp had plantar issues at some point last year, or the year prior. I wonder if those new Nike shoes with the carbon fiber plate in them are proving too stiff for some, and putting extra pressure on the plantar fascia when trying to roll through the foot strike.
+1
I’ve developed a plantar problem in the Vaporfly’s as well. Between the stiffness and the weird fit of the upper around the heel (esp medial side and arch), it’s no wonder many are developing PF. Nike needs to improve the upper mostly- cushion the heel counter so it’s softer.
When it comes to plantar issues, always blame the shoe. Always. I am old, and I can tell you that PF used to never even be a thing. It's a product of shoe "improvements." I have spoken to elite elites who've complained that their sponsors put them in shoes that created plantar issues. And I'm sure I'm not the only person on here who's tried on a new model of shoes and known right away that that model would wreck their plantar fascia in a couple of days.
Maybe it is just that AlSal sucks as a coach.
At least for women anyway. Cain didn't do much when she was with NOP before leaving, Hasay has largely floundered underneath him until she moved up to the marathon, and the other woman he was training has virtually disappeared. Mosier?

And the opposite has happened to Jerry Schumacher. He is much more low tech. Badger Miles seem to working in the long term.
