Lol just kidding.
Lol just kidding.
Ouch! I was thinking about joining for reals. Also thinking about 50 stater (12 down)
Absolutely not "50 sub 4". I'm proud to be a hobbyjogger. No need to be an elitist hobbyjogger. That's an oxymoran.
I'm a very slow hobbyjogger and gave them my money although I'm absolutely unsure as to why.
How much they charging these days for Marathon Maniacs?
$55 + $15 a year. Theoretically you'd make it up in race discounts. Maybe.
we already don't respect you
Well, I 'm a member. Great group!

What makes this a great group? Seriously. It seems like just a bunch of "look at me, I'm so great, I did 2 marathons in 3 weeks" type people.

If you have to ask, you wouldn’t understand.
:)
I never knew there was a half marathon in 50 states club until I saw a guy wearing a jacket at Canyonlands today.

I wonder if there is a 5K club?
Just like running the Boston marathon, I've easily qualified for both but had no interest in either.

To me, the group doesn't matter, but the results do.
A MM member who puts up Kawauchi-realm marathon results (or consistently good age-graded times)-- impressed.
A MM member who is on the Macon / Parvaneh end of the spectrum-- not (as) impressed. Will give those devils their due for their obsession to endurance tests.
Not only would they respect you but they would also peg you

Exactly.
I'd be willing to bet a vast, vast majority of them are on the Macon/Parvaneh end of the spectrum. You know, the people who need the assurance from others that they "did good" or "look at me, look at me, i'm so amazing" to their social media followers
To me, the faster people/good age-graded times, don't need, nor care about re-assurance from others.
Four marathons in 22 days. All sub-4:00. In my 50s. Damn proud of it. I joined with a one-time lifetime membership ($125, I think?). Great discount at Running Warehouse for being a member. I don't interact with the group or buy any of their merchandise.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
