Well, except for Austin.
Ummm....ever heard of Houston?
Admittedly, I only spent one day in Dallas but I thought it was terrible
I lived/worked there for 20 weeks, or about 18 too many.
City of a bunch or strip malls with no culture.
Miserably humid during the summer.
Not much in the vein of outdoor activities.
Job market is good, yes.
Disagree....Let's talk about US/Canada:
Monterey, CA is far better. Head a little south and you get Santa Barbara. Great weather year round, friendly people, laid back and uncongested. Amazing coastline.
Vancouver, BC - Best looking city from the architectural standpoint, surrounded by mountains, and also has thriving art, theatre and music scenes. Ethnically diverse and the food is fantastic. Moderate temperatures make for great running weather.
Portland, Maine - Go in the fall and get your mind blown. Still a quiet city even with population of 70K. Great festivals and food. Beautiful views of the Atlantic. A little harsh in the winter but it never is as dreary and a winter in the midwest.
I'd also put NYC on the list but everyone thinks it's sh!t here. I will admit that the NYC of the 80-90's was far better and affordable with more diversity (and more crime). Today's NY lacks the charm it once had. NYC is still one of my favorite cities.
Other great cities:
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - Fantastic, spectacular. Go, NOW.
Boulder, CO - Scenery and world-class quality of life.
Newport, RI - Sun, sand, live music and lobster rolls.

gotta agree with these 2 posts. i will also admit, like the first post above, that i've spent little time there. however it was 2 different trips of 4 days each for me. i wont say i hated it, but from what i saw, it was incredibly generic/lacked character or any unique qualities. i felt like i could have been in any of 50 other boring/nondescript cities.
yeah, it did nothing for me. (but i am sure there are some good/distinct or interesting things in dallas. i just didn't see any.)
You can always tell a Texan... you just can't tell him much.
pittsburgh has the best food in the northeast
Do you have a treadmill to run on in the afternoon in the summer? It is just too hot and humid to do any real training then. That is why we would see all the Metroplex people in New Mexico in July and August. Just sayin'
WRONG !!!! NYC is the greatest city in the world: central park for running, Broadway shows and ethnic food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Best. City. Ever.
I agree. Dallas is wonderful. If any of you are ever in the area, you really have to try the Applebee's on Inwood Road. Amazing!
I’m from Dallas... family still lives there... and I think it’s $#!%...

And I'm an atheist, but in this case, I'm rooting for God.
Enjoy your blooming onion at TGI Fridays tonight.
Dallas sucks.
You really need to get out more. If Dallas is the high bar for you, then you really have a low bar.
Are there good public schools? Or do you have to shell out 2k a month per kid for school?
Houston is the gayest city in the world. Dallas is only the 2nd gayest.
The girls? What about the girls in Dallas? I like them with meat on their bones and wearing cowboy boots & hats. ?. And what's the ratio? If it's looking good down here, count me in!
