Kind of over him after blowing that lead at the world champs, then running like a freshman at the USA indoors. Lots and lots of talent, but his huge ego will be his downfall.

I’m pretty sure they’re referring to the 2017 outdoor worlds where Kerley did indeed blow the lead. Merritt wouldn’t have squandered the lead like that.

Thanks. Not many students of the sport here, it seems.
So he's about 1 second behind the South African already?
With all due respect, 20.41 isn’t very press worthy. It is impressive (given that his PR is 20.24) and probably means he can run in the low 44s right now, but he should’ve already done that this past indoor season.
That coupled with the other two time trials he ran this past winter, this should’ve been completely expected. What I’m worried about now is how Kerley holds up from now on against competition. It’s obvious he’s an exceptional Time Trialer, but he has a tendency to freeze up when he faces up equal competitors.
What’ll happen when he runs a US final against Michael Norman, Gil Roberts, and an in shape Leshawn Merrit? (although to be fair two of these names are arguable dopers)?
My god this guy's knee drive is outta this world.

Well he won USA nationals last year so I think he'll do al right.
I still need to see him race a fit lashawn Merrit before I’m sold on him. I think at their best lashawn holds him off

Last summer was at the end of a very long NCAA season for Kerley. This is his 1st year as a pro. Your complaints are very premature.
Why are people comparing anyone to Merrit? Convicted doper... just saying, not that I like Fred Kerly at all (I don't).

Merritt was convicted of using a male enhancement product that didn't confer a competitive benefit. That was wrong and he served a suspension but it's senseless to lump someone who screwed up and took a banned substance that has no competitive value with everyone who took testosterone, EPO, etc.
The epitome of ignorance.

First of all, F subway i like firehouse better.
Second, I am the true Hermès link ice blue mink, the other is an imposter.
Third, it is a good comparison, it’s like comparing wariner to johnson then Merritt to wariner, now it’s Kerley vs Merritt. But unlike the other comparisons I don’t think Merritt is out of his prime just yet. He ran a world lead 200 a couple years ago(either 2016 or 2017 i don’t remember). I think Merritt will beat Kerley
