did you watch the race? What a strong effort! Ritz pulled the pack with headwind, 35degrees from 8mi to 13...
Would have been much more interesting to watch Ritz and True run the World Half next week. For goodness sake, tiny Switzerland might have someone in the top 5 at the Champs. It would have nice to root for someone battling to finish on the podium there. We are forced to do some plastic Kenyans...
Ben True does not look 165lbs.

Freudian slip?

Yea right, he's right on track to run a great Boston, he has be in top three of all his races this last year.
Still one of our best without question!
And yes True can kick with best, never leave it to the end with him close by.
That is because I have been advising his new whole food plant based diet. He is now down to a lean 145 ibs. He'll brake 3:30 for the 1500m, 13 min for the 5k and 27 min for the 10k this season. Go vegan, Veganism FTW
he'll break before boston
I'm imagining Jim Mora's classic rant, but with "podium" in place of "playoffs."

He’s not. Duh. The people who claim that True or Solinsky is over 160 are guys who want to make themselves believe that you don’t have to be super light to be an elite distance runner. Well, you do.
Solinsky *was* 160. Ben may have been that heavy at some point, but he's clearly a lot lighter than that now.
(Which is probably on purpose, as he starts to move up in distance.)
Solinsky really *did* prove you can run awfully fast, at least at 10K, with a lot of muscle on your frame.
When he made his abortive attempt to move up, after his come-back attempt, he dropped some weight too.
I don't think *anybody* really believes that much bulk is optimum for the marathon.
Ben True is at most 160 lbs. That's at the very most. Solinksy has always looked taller and bulkier than Ben True. I can see Solinksy being 165-170 but that's muscle not fat. Also, I met Solinksy in person, he didn't really look that big. For some reason the pictures make him look jacked. Garrett Heath looks around 165 for sure.

His diet is not the complicated. He just eats lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and some legumes, nuts and seeds.
A typical day for him:
Breakfast: bowl of oatmeal with some nuts fruit
Snack smoothie
Lunch some kind of whole grain with some vegetables and legumes
Snack some fruit
Dinner pasta with some vegetables

They did not have any hope at WC, better to take some easy money in NY.
Great race from Ben True anyway.

Even more impressive is the fact that race ran at least a minute slow because of the cold and wind.
