I have no idea but Lilly Burton's got quite the donk.
Two falls so far. The Stanford girl did it to herself by running too close to Purrier.
Schweizer is pushing now about halfway through,
Schweizer and Ostrander way out in front with 5 (?) to go, Kurgat leading the chase pack.

The winner could end up winning the meet.
Ok, Florida got the big points they needed in the TJ. They will basically win the team title unless they drop the baton
Impressive double for Schweizer. Leading from the front for both races and sprinting it home. Probably the most impressive women's distance running in NCAAs that I have seen since Barringer (Simpson) and Kipyego.
Schweizer is a beast! Allie best go back to the steeple outdoors.

ok so there's a lot here and I know that there are a lot of different factors in this kinda thing but I don't think lane selection which I believe is random? at least in Round 1 it appears to be.
In both finals, we see that NO ONE in the top 4 came from lanes 3 or 4.
We don't quite see the same correlation among the men in the prelims but only one female athlete came from lane 3 in the prelim and two in lane 4.
This is clearly an issue that needs to be considered. Are the athletes from lanes 5 and 6 running such a large net downhill that it makes faster times much more likely? We saw a world record from the men and a collegiate record from the women. I'd definitely say its worth it for smarter, more experienced people to have a look at this because it seems pretty concerning to me.
Good race for Allie O. I always pick her because I'm from AK, but also because she always shows up and gives a good performance when it counts.

Wow! Has the Ivy League ever had a collegiate record holder in the short sprints?
Dan O'brien says they were wondering who she was? She made the final at the Oly trials as a frosh. Hello.........

What does being from Arkansas have to do with anything?

Probably because of the two falls. Kurgat fell early and caught up to the pack easily and the Stanford runner caused her own fall and was never in it.
Considering the multitude of injuries and set backs Allie O has had, seeing her keep coming out with top performances makes her easy to root for. Hope to see both her and Karissa take a shot at Tokyo 2020 for sure.
