As we get ready for Saturday's final day action at the NCAA Track and Field Championships, we wanted to highlight our favorite interviews from Day 1. Most post-race interviews are pretty boilerplate but a few stood out yesterday.
The Notre Dame DMR Team:
After talking to these guys, we forgot they didn't actually win the race. Elijah Silva was jumping up and down the entire time in the mixed zone and was yelling immediately after the race, "That was a $70,000 race" (the value of his scholarship).

Josh Kerr and Coach Joe Franklin:
Kerr talked about the disappoint of the DMR, coach Franklin gave some great perspective how yesterday in the big scheme of things really was a great day, and then Kerr upped things up a notch and said he's going to do something exciting in the mile final and not have a 3:58 (1500m) sit and kick race like at World Indoors.

Rhianwedd Price-Weimer
She was the NCAA Mile champ in 2015 and it's been big time struggles since that. Pneumonia and more. She was crying after nearly ever race last year. Now she's back running great and willing to talk about it:

Grant Holloway
Super, super talent, (World leader in hurdles, and top 10 in long jump) and great too talk too. He got beat on final jump here and was gracious, humble, and entertaining. Expect big things from him today as well.
