I just watched Brentwood win the DMR at New Balance and was wondering how they do it? I know there coach Guy Avery has had success with numerous athletes. Does anyone know how their training is structured?

They run a lot of miles for high schoolers, pay monthly to coach, pay coaches travel, and are not running for their school team. So no state championships, isolated from the other runners. It's kind of like running pro in high school. You only get one chance at high school xc and track. Seems like a strange way to go just for the sake of a fast time for a couple of them at national meets.
Looks like the top runner on his team is injured. I know the second fastest runner was injured all fall. Are they being pushed too hard in high school?
Looks like one of the top girl runners for Avery is injured. Hasnt run a race since June. Similar to Hasty last year.
