I came on here to defend Rojo. The guy got a very high SAT score (which means one is not stupid) and graduated from Princeton with honors. In my personal interactions with him (where we certainly did not agree on some things...and even got in arguments at times), I can realize and admit that he has a higher IQ than I do.

My main point: Rojo is correct in that LetsRun really does differentiate itself in terms of "asking the hard questions" and not buying into always playing it safe like all the other media outlets in running. Rumors on this messageboard sometimes lead to investigations that turn out to be true. He created the site and it was a great idea. People who come on here and complain about typos and try to make points with illogical reasoning are probably closer to an average IQ.

The Lance on Opera (like some have already mentioned) is of course not a good comparison either. Lance was already caught redhanded and he sought after Opera as an outlet to "open up with the truth."

I have nothing against you personally or Robert. Since his name came up, I actually recall him questioning your intentions in the comment section on uploading a video that you posted.

The video made your coach look bad, which was your right to post. Still it seemed quite unfair to catch a person in "one specific moment" and post it to show him in a negative light. Regardless, I noticed that you never responded to him but you responded to other posts. Why? One can look at that in many different ways and that person doesn't have to have a high IQ. Kevin is very nice guy who knows running well and is quite funny.

That may seem off-topic, but anything, like the Dathan interview, can be looked at from many different views and it has very little to do with intelligence.

Lighten up, life is far too short. Heck, most of us will never write a book let alone be worrying about typos if we did;)

The first poster above is typing in support of what I basically had heard. I heard Ritz wasn't happy when he left, had had to lawyer up and refused to wear the NOP singlet in Boston. I didn't know that he was supposed to wear it according to the program but that's what the first post says.

The 2nd poster calls the first poster a liar. But yet again the beauty of this messageboard comes out. The first poster is right on the money.

I don't agree with Rojo on a lot of things probably (political etc.) and for sure not all his opinions, but I think he conducted a great interview here and made some great points. His IQ is for sure higher than mine. I also know he was a great coach and he truly cared about his athletes. Creating this website was a pretty intelligent move as well....a good example of a very smart person applying themself.

pro tip when accusing someone of making illogical arguments dont make numerous fallacies when arguing namely non sequitur and appeal to authority/ accomplishment

I never said "Running For The Hansons" was full of typos because Scribner doesn't have a high IQ. I know he does and I know he scored very well on his GMAT and can write well. We were lazy in the editing process (and I suck at writing).

I give Rojo kudos because he is an intelligent person that has applied himself (I think with this site as one good example actually).

Let's see if you can follow this logic:

If one gets a high score on a standardized test like the SAT, then it means they are not dumb.

They might have horrible "street smarts" and not have any "creative intelligence", but there is not way their IQ is going to be low.

Now on the flip side if someone gets an average or lower score on the SAT, it also doesn't not mean they are dumb (they could be though). For whatever reason (i.e. English is a second language, people are much better at Math than verbal etc) they might score lower than their relative IQ. It is obviously a very biased test. People can have great "street smarts" and "people skills" and that counts as a different type of intelligence of course....that gets people pretty far in life.

And attacking us on our college majors? I believe Rojo was Econ but I could be wrong. I wouldn't put too much stock in a major either, as different schools and programs do vary considrably (but yes, I got a BS in "Design" that is correct).
