DeGrado cant even walk into a room without being loud and has never been accused of being quiet never did buy the part about TS coach didnt see Vince coming didnt fit what we all know about Vince he is loud. Vince just keeps it real. For years I thought DeGrado and Coach Turner hated eachother until someone thought they could bash Turner and DeGrado called it out and made it known he wasnt going to allow Turner to get talked about unless it was to to Turners face. They may of had their differances but DeGrado kept that between he and Turner and had Turners back. Vince is to vocal to blindside anyone guilty of being to upfront and open booked

Turner/DeGrado races the best! Those to battling it out was fun to watch. They bever hated eachother just competed Turner kept Vince out of trouble Vince had Turners back

I ran for coach degrado while at Cowley and I got video proof of degrado getting beat and kind of a embarrassing fashion by a high school runner. Looks like a good sport about it to me.

Facts. Turner was DeGrado's coach while at Southwestern College. I was a freshman when DeGrado was a senior and Turner coached there. They have always had a love/hate relationship. Not surprised to hear that one bit.

Degrado was cheating inside the curve the whole second half of the race. Great kick by the kid, 60 sec last lap.

Finally clarification on Turner/DeGrado relationship! Agreed those to could race and kept it exciting. Was DeGrado a loud mouth in college also? Much love to Coach DeGrado very loyal man but he is loud and I love it!

Yes and No. He would be the one who stood up to the football players but most of them all liked him because he wouldn't run his mouth but wouldn't take their stuff when they would give it like normal football players would. Never was beat up or in a fight. Actually he did get into a fight during practice with a towner when the towner started running his mouth and cussing at us during a snow run. Degrado picked up a snowball and was packing it while his teammate Brant Littrell threw a snowball across the street and it hit the car. It was 4 of them that got out and ran across the street, it was Degrado who said nobody leave we're 10 deep, 8 left so it was Degrado myself and Brant. Degrado had picked up a snowball and was packing it for about a block already because he wanted to hit the women's dorm 3rd story because there was a girl up there that would make fun of us and her window was open, dude does have an arm, hated when we played dodge ball. So the guy came up to hit Brant, and from about 4 feet Degrado launched his snowball and hit him in the chest which knocked the guy over. Stunned he picked up a trash can that was by the curb threw it at Degrado which he moved and went after him. Degrado hit him with a 1-2 that knocked him down. The other 3 did nothing and they picked their friend up and ran across the street. Thank god there was NO camera phones or anything else back in 2002. Coach Helmer never found out about that one, I think. Traffic had stopped on both sides. It was crazy, best part was he did this in running shorts and cut off. Which was what those guys were making fun of us to begin with you know how that goes. But dude was always high energy and didn't care what others thought about him. Definitely an a-hole if you don't know him, sounds like nothing much has changed. I've got a ton of other stories about him. But it was typical runner stuff that we did in college to pass time.

After reading Vinces snowball adventure which had me rolling so see him doing that, made me think me about this whole situation. A couple other coach's and I spent one evening trying to get Vince hot over smack talking Hunter was doing on him heck we even started making stuff up. Vince just smiled that smerk of his and said he really dislikes me doesnt he wouldnt even trash talk back. DeGrado can handle loosing can handle trash talk but he wont stand by and let someone hurt someone he cares about aka we all saw it with Turner dude is loyal to a fault. DeGrado blew over something done to someone else...I will put money on it.

This is Turner... funny reading these posts. Vince is a good friend of mine and always will be. He cares about his runners and I’ve always wanted success for him, anyone who disagrees or wants to claim otherwise is incorrect. It’s disappointing to hear about what happened at Nationals but... as others have already mentioned there are always two sides to every story. Let’s hope he gets an opportunity to let his side be known. It would be very tragic if this costs him his job for the sake of his family. Love you Vinny and call me anytime.

This is so sad. Sad for his athletes. How were their travel/lodging needs taken care of while their "leader" was in the slammer.

Sad for JUCO. Junior Colleges already have a reputation which makes securing venues difficult. Now you have a "Coach" behaving this way. Smh

Do not know either coach just love seeing a certain schools called out by others who think as I do about major rule violations on how two programs are ran and someone needs to bust them. Will say those in favor of DeGrado are showing class. None have said how they felt about how he acted they just have said he is a good person and be respectful of his career, privacy, family, and that the story was made into a fish tail. That DeGrado was provoked and they had been at him since trying to disqualify. Now there has been comments about it not being cool to call the cops over a push which was over the top. Just saying one group shows class the other just wants to keep passing judgement and bring up jail time...fact is it was not assault and battery so it was not a charge of violence. Now someone get back to the bigger violation of cheating by combining two programs.

Clearly you need to catch up. I responded to someone who explicitly stated nothing happened.

Assault is not a minor charge for a coach who is supposed to be setting an example for student athletes

These are TWO SEPARATE issues both equally worth discussing. After all that's what forums are for.

I don't agree with cheating, or using any kind of loopholes for the sake of winning.

I also don't agree with an adult blowing his top over anything like this. Coaching is bigger than the sport. You are molding young people and teaching life lessons.

But from what we heard Degrado responded to the Trinidad coach. All the information we have is hear-say and is worth a penny. Speculation is speculation and if we have not witnessed it or saw video we can’t be accusing people of things we are not sure of. With that being said, who has the video?
