It seemed like the Adams team came to golden with the sole purpose to try and show that the conversions in Golden were nonsense. Damon chose to load up the mile and 3k with all the heavy hitters to try and make a mockery of the track and its owners. They really didn't succeed.
In the 5k it was led by Colligan for the entirety of race until 4200 meters when Sevick took off dropping Colligan and a western runner. Colligan ended passing the western runner and coming in second mines went 1-2-4-6-7 scoring 28 points. The only scoring adams runner was Dalton Graham who actually ran pretty well coming in 5th.
The Adam's DMR demolished mines over the mile leg but mines was running a guy who had already run the 5k the same day against Sydney. So that went well into Adam's favor.
The mile was won by a great performance by George Kelly who ended up breaking the field house record. This was a win for adams but they really lost the event as they needed to at least have 3 in the top five to make up points. The worst just was that of Elias Gedyon who didn't even score. Adams scored 18 points but mines sneaked in 9 points without one of their national caliber runners.
The 3K was probably the most entertaining race to watch as Verbal clipped Sydney at the line to give him his second loss in the 3k of the year by a D2 athlete. This was another event that adams really should have run away with by the talent in the field and they ended up just 2-3-8 scoring 15 points and allowing mines to go 4-5-7 scoring 10.
Overall Adams came in trying to embarrass the mines field house and really didn't succeed and when your entire team is based in distance and can't match your seeds the success won't follow.
