I did a big run the other day (50 miles) on trails and I started to get some really crazy cramps where my whole quads/calves locked up.
Never have had this happen before. It basically felt like my calves/quads were flexing as hard as possible - could hardly even walk. It was a particularly hot day so I am thinking the heat could have played a factor - not sure though.
Is this a symptom of any long term muscle damage? I was hoping to get back to running sooner than later, but also want to be smart about it..
