Which result was more shocking? Murphy not making the final, or Abda making the final?
I'm going Abda. OTC is a dead end.

Murphy looks like a runner totally and thoroughly stuck in hus own head.
You can't run fast with the parking brake pulled all the way up....

Yeah, strange to see him struggling so much, especially with all the opportunities provided by NOP.
Ands is more shocking that he actually performed on race day. OTC has made these guys injured or mental midgets. Also hear Charles Jock has been dropped so Abda is lone American half-miler male in group. Maybe receiving more attention?
The format of the qualifier is faulty and gives a huge advantage to running in the last heat. The rhythm and mentality of the race changes so much when you know exactly what to do.
If you know you only need to come in 4th place, and run 1:48 to make the final. You don't need to race to win, you don't need to jockey for position in the same way, you can relax and sit, and you have a goal to help you focus.
In races where you race off other people, you should not reward time over competition, especially when coming in 4th can be better than 2nd.
It is a faulty format when your race strategy can change depending on the heat you're in.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
