I know that this might sound like many other posts on here but I truly cant figure it out and im sitting here after crap race #6383838 and I just cant take it anymore. I cannot seem to get it right. I go to the George Washington University and was recruited. I am on half scholarship. In high school my mile pr was 5:08 and 3200 pr was 11:01 and I came to college and now cant get anywhere near those or where I should be in my main race (5k). I did 18:26 on xc course in high school and now my best race was last year outdoor track in the same exact time on a flat track! But that was a rare one and for example my race today was 18:51... its so crazy. and its not just that im “adapting to college”. I am a junior now. I even train pretty well a lot of the time and still the races are complete trash. I do my steady (not tempo but quicker than easy) 4 doubles at 6:40 pace and then todays race pace was 6:05 for 5k. I am eating PLENTY trust me haha I adore all food and get made fun of for it;) I sleep 7-8 hours almost every night. I do 60 miles a week but the hard days are hard and the easy days super easy!!! Only 5 or 6 nice and slow on easy days. Workout 2-3 times a week. Long run is 12 miles. I love running so much. I live for this sport and giving up will never be an option. I keep telling myself this will pass if i just stay strong but every race is hell and its not getting better. I am desperate for any ideas. Please.
