Saw a PA today (could not get an appointment with my doctor for weeks) who diagnosed me with a meniscus tear. I have spent three weeks thinking I have IT band pain but the constant swelling pushed me to see someone about it. I have a referral to an orthopedic but that's not for two more weeks.
Symptoms- Swelling and pain after even light activity that lasts for a day or two. The pain is mostly on outside of my knee but swelling is above the kneecap. After swelling subsides, I can walk without pain but it comes back immediately after I try any cross training or walk too far. It was brought on after I did too many lunges and squats during a strength training session. If I try to run after a few days rest, pain is immediate and swelling comes on hours later.
Recovery advice?
