I’m looking to get up to around 55mpw from 40. I’ve been able to squeeze 40 in through long cooldowns and running about a mile more than coach wants on the recovery days. If I tried to run too much while at practice then it would be suspicious and he’d get angry (he thinks my legs will disintegrate as soon as I top 45mpw). I’m thinking right now that I should throw in a couple of morning doubles. What’s the best way to go about this? Skipping practice isn’t really an option because I’m a team co-captain and I pretty much have to be there all the time.
I’m thinking maybe doubling on the mornings of workouts and on the weekends after meets. I also don’t really know which day is best for resting.
