I am a sophomore in high school and have been running for a few years. Last track season I had a pretty big break through and dropped my 800 from 2:28 to 2:16, mile from a 5:15 to a 5:00 as well as dropping my 3200m from a 11:25 to a 10:28. During the xc season I got a pr of 16:14 in a 5k and averaged a 16:50 for the whole season. We did a 1 mile time trial directly after xc and I could only get a 5:01 going all out. I dont know is wrong. I have the endurance for a 16:14 and the speed for a 2:16 (its slow but it shows I can somewhat get my legs moving). Why is it that out of all the miles I ran last track season ( like 6) and this post xc season ( trailed twice) I can't ever seem to drop sub 5?
