Boston 6 users, did you need to size up from your usual Pegasus or Supernova size?
Boston 6 users, did you need to size up from your usual Pegasus or Supernova size?
I wear a 9 in the Pegasus and a 9 in the Bostons, Bostons feel a bit more snug but not enough to justify sizing up
My 11 Peg is longer than my 11 Boston 6, but I like it this way during my track workouts and tempo runs. My only problem was on my HM race, where I would prefer having my Bostons sized half a size up. So I guess it also depends on what you are planning to use them for.
Get the same size as the Supernova, as they fit exactly the same length-wise. They fit narrower though, but the knit mesh is stretchy and non-constricting.
I find that Adidas runs 1/2 smaller than Saucony or Salomon (the two brands I've worn the most).
Same length as Supernova Glide 8 or the new Supernova? I've run in the Glide 8 but not in the current Supernova.
As for the intended use, road tempos and intervals, and maybe a half marathon if I'm fit by May. Rest of mileage I'll probably do in Wave Riders.
What type of mileage do you guys get out of the Continental outsole in the Bostons?
Thanks for all the help.
I size up
I haven't run in the Glide 8, but lengthwise I'd say same as the Glide 7 and the new Supernova.
You can't go wrong with the Bostons, especially for faster-paced running. They're firmer than the Supernova, but still nice and responsive... and light of course.
I've only put in 250 km (155 mi) and the outsole doesn't have any visible wear that I can tell. The midsole still feels great. I've seen other posters say they've gotten over 700 miles from the Bostons...
Thanks all for your help. I just ordered a pair in my usual size. I was about to order the Mizuno Wave Shadow instead, or maybe the Asics Roadhawk FF, but after all the good things I've heard of the Bostons, I'm curious to try them myself.
The shoes are narrow but my normal size works fine for workouts. For anything longer than a HM, I have to go half a size up! I have slightly wider than average feet.
Normal size
For me 9.5 in the Adios and 10 in the Boston.
Got them today, I'm returning them tomorrow.
Length wise, true to size. Shorter than trainers, but no need to go up. The problem is the fit in the lateral midfoot - my foot spills over the midsole by the central stripe of the Adidas logo. It's not that the shoe is narrow (actually, I had to pull the laces kind of tight to get a goid hold), just that the last doesn't match my foot shape.
Will get the Wave Shadow or Wave Aero instead. Too bad the Sayonara 4 is no more.
Decided to give the Bostons a chance in the end, went for a 7 mile run, no issues. Once the laces were pulled tight and I started running, my foot was okay and the midfoot fit as usual. Actually, the upper is kind of accomodating.
The shoes are light and comfortable. Heel drop is very noticeable, way more than the 12mm Wave Rider, but I'm okay with that. The ride is more engaging than the Freedom ISO, particularly the forefoot. If it were all Adiprene, the Boston would be close to perfect.
Anyway, definitely true to size in my case.
