8X400 @ 800m goal pace with a min rec? Is this possible? I recall years ago there was a training video where Verzbicas went 6X400 at about his 800 pace but he took a few minutes between...and he was an all timer.
I will also mention what we had a kid from our local HS who split 1:49 a few years ago at a county meet in DE. He was discussed on this site, I believe, but I know that he did not go above 25 mpw. We have a kid this year from the same school who goes 1:59 so far and he doesn't go over 30 mpw.
